Inside there is a pot coming to a boil in the modern, well-equipped kitchen. The white ash floor boards feel smooth and cool on the bare soles of your feet as you slip inside the high-ceilinged interior to drop the fresh lobsters in the pot.

Soft Gaelic music is wafting out of the cottage's sound system, interlaced with the cries of the gulls from outside. The expansive high-transomed windows offer an exquisite view of the bay, islands, and the narrow exit to the open Atlantic beyond.

Later, after a romantic seaside dinner at home or a memorable feast at one of the several local multi-star restaurants such as Fleur de Sel in Lunenburg or the nearby Innlet Cafe, there will be a warming and refreshing soak in the double masseur tub. The relaxing day stretches on into the carefree, restful night.

Top-side in the master bedroom you feel like you may be in the top-rigging of an old Grand Banks schooner, watching clouds drift across a blue sky day, or the moon and stars dance their slow progression in the quiet velvet night.

... drift off to sleep in the large, comfortable bed, perhaps thinking of how you must share this experience with family and friends. A longer vacation next year... maybe another trip in autumn for the brilliant leaves, bright apples and even deeper peacefulness...
